The countdown is on! On Sunday 10th August 2025, the village of Belvès will once again be transformed for its beloved Fête Médiévale, a day where history springs to life in the streets. This year’s theme – "Once upon a time in Belvès, in the 15th century" – invites visitors to step back in time and experience a world of knights, tradespeople, nobles, and villagers going about their daily lives in one of the prettiest villages in the Périgord Noir.
The Bellovidere association, a group of dedicated local volunteers, has recently settled into a new headquarters right in the heart of the village to prepare for the event – and their passion is clear in every detail. From the authentic decorations to the lively programme of activities, the festival is a joyful celebration of community spirit and local heritage.
Throughout the day, expect the streets to be bustling with costumed performers, live medieval music, falconry displays, traditional games, storytelling, craft demonstrations, and artisan market stalls. Children can join in with hands-on workshops and games, while adults enjoy the medieval taverns, pop-up food stands, and the chance to browse unique handcrafted goods.
A highlight of the day is the atmosphere itself: everywhere you turn, there's something to see, hear, taste or discover. The historic setting of Belvès – with its ancient architecture, shady squares and sweeping views – provides the perfect backdrop to this immersive experience.
Whether you're a local, a returning visitor or discovering Belvès for the first time, the Fête Médiévale is a day full of charm, colour and fun for all ages. Costumes are encouraged (and you’ll see plenty of them!), but everyone is welcome to join in however they like.

A Sky-High Summer Spectacle

Mark your calendars! The Meeting Aérien de Belvès returns this summer on Friday 14 August 2025, right in the heart of the Périgord Noir. This breathtaking airshow brings together an impressive lineup of aircraft—vintage planes, aerobatic teams, and military jets—for a day of thrilling displays in the skies above one of France’s most beautiful villages.
Open to the public from 11am, the event offers something for everyone:
✈️ From 12pm to 2pm, visitors can get up close to the aircraft, chat with the pilots, and explore the static displays. It’s the perfect chance to learn, ask questions, and snap some fantastic photos.
✈️ From 2pm to 6pm, look to the skies as the show begins—featuring jaw-dropping aerobatics, formation flying, and flyovers by aircraft like the Rafale Solo Display, Cap 10, Broussard, Stampe SV‑4, Zlin Z‑526, Sukhoï‑26, Pilatus Porter, and more.
Down on the ground, there’s a friendly, festival vibe with local food and drink, aviation exhibits, shaded picnic spots, and plenty of space to enjoy the day with family and friends.
Entry is €15, with free admission for children under 12. Organised by the Aéroclub Belvès Périgord at the Camp de César airfield just outside the village. Free parking and easy access available.
